There are many awesome things to do in Koh Lipe. But sometimes when we’re on holiday it’s easy to get stuck for ideas. Certainly when I was there at times I was scratching my head, thinking ‘what can we do now?’

These five things to do in Koh Lipe can each take up a whole day or just a few hours. But I’ve done them all and can confirm that they are all great fun.

1. Hire a bicycle and ride to all three beaches

This is one of the best things to do in Koh Lipe the next day after arriving on the island. From a practical point of view, it’s a great chance to become familiar with the island’s geography and layout. You’ll see the homes where the local Thais live and their small villages.

Plus, you can see each of the three beaches in one day – taking in both Pattaya Beach and Sunrise Beach. Finish at Sunset Beach and grab a cool drink while watching the Sun go down over the Andaman Sea.

2. Hire a kayak and paddle out to the Koh Usen and Koh Kra

Kayaking is an awesome holiday water activity – but on Koh Lipe it’s even better. There are two gorgeous uninhabited islands just a short paddle from the sands of Sunrise Beach. Even people who’ve never kayaked before – including children – can navigate the calm, safe waters out to these small islands. Put a picnic, drinks and snorkels inside the kayak and its makes for a great afternoon lounging on a deserted desert island. Hiring a kayak costs around 200 baht for the first hour and 100 or 150 baht for every hours after that.

3. Take a snorkeling day trip

Nobody should visit Koh Lipe without having at least one day of snorkeling. The waters are too perfect not to jump in. There is an abundance of tropical marine life. Fish, turtles, glow-in-the-dark plankton and much more can all be found. Snorkeling in a life jacket is safe even for people who can’t swim. And it’s twice the fun with an underwater camera. (Pick one up online before your trip of buy from one of the shops on Koh Lipe’s Walking Street). There are lots of different snorkeling day trips available in high season. They often involve stopping at many of the small islands near Koh Lipe. Read our full guide to Koh Lipe snorkeling.

4. Chill out all day on Pattaya Beach

Holiday activities are great but sometimes it’s fun just to relax. Soak up the sun and splash in the sea on Pattaya Beach for the day. The beach is the biggest and best on the island. Include a few beach games like badminton or soccer for added fun. Or swim and snorkel in the warm sea. It’s the perfect lazy day in sun, ideal for resting and chilling out.

Plus, there are loads of great cafes, bars and restaurants on Pattaya Beach to stay stocked up with refreshments all day. Read our full guide to Koh Lipe Pattaya Beach.

5. Have a healthy day with yoga and massage
